Happy Friday Metalheads! Today we’re going to go back in time to 1986 to the self-titled album by Crimson Glory for the track “Azrael.”
The lineup for the album includes the unmistakeable and powerful vocalist Midnight, Jon Drenning and Ben Jackson on guitars, Jeff Lords on bass and Dana Burnell on drums. The album was re-released on Roadrunner Records after Crimson Glory signed to the label for their next album Transcendence.
Crimson Glory set themselves apart from the bands on the scene by wearing metallic masks. They have been cited as one of the founders of the American progressive metal movement and are considered a major influence for many of today’s metal bands. While the band reunited a few times with the original lineup, vocalist Midnight passed away in 2009 from a stomach aneurysm. The band played a tribute show at ProgPower to honor Midnight’s memory.
Current Queensryche singer Todd La Torre left the band in 2013 and the last known status of the band was their search for a new singer was on after a post on their Facebook page.
