The last two songs on the EP, “Soldiers of Metal” and “Howling Furies” were recorded with the previous lineup of Anthrax which included: Neil Turbin – vocals, Scott Ian and Dan Spitz – guitars, Greg D’Angelo – drums and Dan Lilker – bass. Charlie Benate who joined Anthrax in 1983 re-recorded many of the drum tracks for the EP, while Dan Lilker went on to join Nuclear Assault and was replaced by Charlie’s nephew, Frank Bello.
The song “Armed and Dangerous” which also appears on Spreading The Disease is similar to the EP version, however it was remixed to include a fade-in intro leading into the acoustic guitar melody. The song “Raise Hell” was an original recording for the EP, and the band did a cover version of the Sex Pistols song “God Save the Queen.” Definitely a classic!
